We are a group of volunteers who work together to improve the natural environment within the Cambridgeshire village of Yaxley.

Yaxley Countryside Volunteers began in  1984 when   three friends,  Dave Miners, Bob Oakley & Reg Bingham, got together to try and improve the environment for the residents wildlife.  At that time there were very few trees in Yaxley  & our main target was to increase the number of trees in the parish.  We have since planted over 3000 trees & hundreds of meters of hedges, dug numerous ponds & carried out lots of tasks on behalf of residents and the Parish Council.

We meet most weeks, and are always eager to welcome anyone who has a similar interest in improving their local area to the benefit of all.

The volunteers meet Fridays for 2 hrs to complete ongoing projects or maintain existing areas for the benefit & enjoyment of Yaxley residents & wildlife. If you want to get involved & meet the volunteers please use the contact details below.  No experience necessary & everyone welcome
